ABSTRACTION OF THOUGHTS

I was inspired by clouds and how they correlate to the movement of thoughts–the beauty and dance of how they bend and move. I emphasized the texture, by weaving pieces of paper together with paper mache, which then added a three-dimensional element. I continue my exploration with the mindless yet purposeful movement of my hand that has no clear direction of line work. I chose calmer colors, to embed the light, airy feeling of clouds.

In my piece Rebirth, I explored with paper mache, using this form of craft to create depth and movement in a three-dimensional way. I used this technique of molding the shape of the paper in this piece in a similar way.
